Bangkok, Thailand

This is the alley of our first hotel, near the airport.

Almost all front yards or backyards have their own mini temples.

This is a small shrine in the lobby of the hotel.

By mid-afteroon we transferred to our dowtown hotel. This is our new neighbourhood.

From now on, we will be able to update the blog almost every day.

We went out to breakfast in the Soi Samsen neighbourhood. We loved all of it.
This was our first pad thai, Delicious.

Louis and Angelina have been complaining that the hotel room is really too small and noisy. Sorry guys, this is the way it's going to be for the next 4 days. So there. They have been great travellers though for their age. With 10 hours of jetlag they are doing pretty good.
This morning we visited some street markets. So much food and clothing, you wonder how it can all sell,

This is the last traditional home of the neighbourhood.

Happy to eat some fresh fruit. Here dragon fruit.
In the afternnon we went to the famous Khao San road

and got a nice foot massage.

We also got our train tickets toChiang Mai at the main train station.

Angelina loves Pad Thai.
 Grilled scorpions anyone? No?

Today we visited a monastery close to our hotel.

Right behind the temple is a village of wood homes for the monks.
This is a local school. Some children happened to be playing some traditional music when we went by.

Angelina always thinks that everybody is making fun of her.

Peter taught this lady how to cook French toast. She'll add it to her menu. This is the place we like best for breakfast.
We are leaving for Chiang Mai today.
