What do we do during the week?

This question was asked many times. Here's the answer.
First, there is family life just like for everybody else. We are not a retired couple or on vacation. We all get up at 6:30. We walk to school at 7:15. School starts at 7:30. In the morning, after our breakfast, we go to the internet cafe and spend an hour or more there because the speed is slow.  We also may do some errands. By then it's time to come home and cook lunch. We go get the kids at 12:45 and bring them home for lunch. After lunch they do their homework and go play with some friends or with the neighbours' little boy. We hang out and play cards or do some yoga, or read books. Sometimes we go to town again with the kids for other errands. We start cooking diner around 4:30 so that it's ready by 5:30. Our neighbour gets back from work at 5:30 and plays soccer with Louis and/or Angelina for at least one hour. He's a very good soccer player and Louis loves playing with him. Bedtime for the kids is 8pm.

We had to go get gas one time. This may have been the last bottle available in Vilcabamba that day. Sometimes there is no gas at all for days. We take a taxi back home and Peter has to carry the bottle from the end of the driveway to the house. A bottle refill is 2.50 USD only

Kids are not allowed access to the computer. There are no TV, no phones and no internet access at home. They are getting very creative with other toys, play soccer,  go hang out at the creek or meet friends in town
we play A LOT of card games
The neighbours' yard is like paradise and these people are very friendly.

Louis is a chef. He loves to cook. Angelina too.

On the week-ends, the kids practise their English spelling, maths and writing skills with some homeschooling books.
We mostly have a vegetarian diet here. This dish is plantain slices, white carrots aith parsley and garlic, curry quinoa and lettuce

Let's not forget the laundry trips 2-3 times a week. A load like this costs 4 USD. This lady lived in the US for 10 years. With all these trips to town, we probably walk more than an hour every day.
The neighbours shared some of their oranges with Louis and Angelina.

Louis and Angelina have been playing with the neighbours' kittens.

We had some unexpected visitors. Keith and Linda from Durango were passing through Vilcabamba. We met them at the "Juice Factory". They came over for a simple rice and bean dinner. What a nice visit, thank you guys.
